Portland's Fox Theater crumbles.

The landmark Fox Theater in Portland, Oregon fell at the hands of the wrecking ball Sunday, May 11, 1997. The Fox opened around 1910 as Heilig and carried the names Hippodrome, Rialto, Music Box and Mayfair. In 1954 Evergreen Theaters acquired the property and remodeled it, naming it the Fox. The building took about year to build and just two days to destroy.
